What div ye mean bi "winna aye get throu" here? I hae
tae ca canny wfter thon last time - wi aa thae beuks
ye'v aye yer neb in, it micht be some idiom I'v juist
never heard afore!

It seems mair naitral tae me tae say "I'm that struntit",
but this micht juist be dialectical for aa I ken.

Dear Dominie,

What div ye mean bi "winna aye get throu" here?

Sumhin lik "I'll never get through (it)" or "I'll never recover".

> "A cock craws crouse on its ain midden-heid."

Sum mair wit about poutrie, middens an muck (in Lawlans Saxon):

"Wenn de Hahn up d'n Mess(hupen) kreiht, (denn) kümmt noch 'n Gast."
(Whan/Gin the cock craws on the midden(-heid), (than) a guest/veesitor
wull come.)

Wad that no be day an daily?

Reinhard/Ron

P.S.: The previous posting dealing with male chickens did not pass a
couple of people's over-priggish morality filters. I expect the same to
happen to this one.
