Subject: westflemish songs

Media do not allways have an errasing effect on language varieties
The westflemish songwriter and perfomer Flip Kowlier, sings his songs in
westflemish. He also performs with a rap-group called  'T Hof van Commerce'.
Who also "rap" in westflemish.
They are incredibly popular in West-Flanders. This is an enormous push
forward for the survival of our dialect.
One now discovers how popular dialect is in our province especially for
youngsters who are the base of our language survival.
Whereas the yougsters in other provinces (especially in the towns) tend
to change their language to a more standardised dutch, the westflemish (
- backed by the Kowlier-effect -) really go fully for their native dialect.
