circulating.

What's Happening?

Inboxes are being flooded by forged emails claiming to be from PayPal,
eBay, etc., due to a new variety of the MyDoom virus released onto the
Internet on Monday, Nov 8. Some are personal messages asking for a friend.
All ask you to "click" or "follow" a link. Please DON'T.

How Does It Work?

Clicking on the embedded HTML link from a computer running Microsoft
Windows (all versions affected) will lead to your computer being
compromised (infected) through a brand-new Internet Explorer (IE) exploit.
A small Web server is then installed on your infected computer,
connections to various IRC servers are attempted, and your computer will
start sending out forged email in an attempt to compromise more machines.
This does not affect Apple computers.

What Should I Do?

If you manage your own computer, be sure you have your anti-virus software
installed and
auto-update turned on. However, to get these latest patches, run the update
now. If you don't have anti-virus software, get it now.

an automated message system and the reply will not be received.
