"Ajuin" (and the like) has indeed stress on the second syllable, as is often 
the case here with Romance loanwords.

Tussen haakjes: Het was wel charmant om je zo te zien "blussen" bij het 
deelnemen aan de piel-thread, maar ik denk dat je eerder "blozen" dan 
"blussen" bedoelde. "Blussen" betekent vooral het uitdoven van een vuur door 
er water op te gieten of spuiten in het Nederlands.

Oh ja...oorspronkelijk is "piel" de oude Hollandse uitspraak van "pijl" (in 
de betekenis van mannelijk geslachtsdeel), terwijl het in het geval van 
"eend" zou afgeleid zijn van een lokroep.
