Dear Ron san,
Today, I opened "Ockar English" of the "Wren", and clicked "Language
information" of the same page. But, I got the language information of
"Cymraeg"(Welsh).
Pleas check this site.
regards,
Yasuji

Thanks for pointing that out, dear Yasuji. It helps when people give us
feedback and suggestions. I have made the correction.
We've installed a new and improved access statistics counter. It is
interesting to see how many people have been visiting the anniversary site.
We're getting lots of "hits" from all over the world. Predictably, the
Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, the UK, Canada and the USA are in the lead as
far as numbers are concerned. Actual surprises are Denmark, Spain and Japan
with lots of hits (and it's not only our Yasuji from Japan).
It looks a bit like there's a pattern emerging: people tend to find the site
if their own languages are featured, and then they stay, look around and
hopefully learn something about Lowlands languages. In the cases of Denmark
and Spain we feature several minority language varieties, and in the case of
Japan one. Perhaps speakers or activists of non-power languages search for
relevant sites, and that's how they find us. So, adding translations in
non-Lowlands languages may prove to be beneficial in more ways than one.
A surprise within that is the large number of hits from Austria, from
several locations in that country. I cannot explain that, since we feature
no language varieties from that lovely country yet, Lower Bavarian being the
closest. A fairly large number of hits from Switzerland, also from several
regions, may in part be explained by our featuring Rhaeto-Roman (thanks to
our Mike). But in the cases of Austria and Switzerland people may initially
be searching for information about German language diversity. Furthermore
interesting is a good number of hits from Lithuania, even though the Baltic
languages are, sadly, not (yet?) featured.
So, folks, if you want to "lure" people in to our Lowlands area, why not
help to come up with more translations. Keep pestering potential
translators and narrators you know. Sooner or later most of them will
relent. ;-)
And, hey, we need Scots recordings, and of course more varieties! People
have been looking for Scots and Scottish English sound files. Let's make
them happy, shall we? Our Sandy has problems recording his voice. So what
about the rest of you lot? If Sandy's translations are not the same as
those in your own varieties would be, then why not tweak them to make them
fit (without replacing Sandy's)?
So much for today's pep talk.
Thanks (in anticipation)!
Reinhard/Ron
P.S.: In front of the window by which I'm sitting here, there's a tree with
all its twigs heavy with bright red winter berries, and many different kinds
of birds have been stopping by to get their lunch. It's very nice to watch.
No wren in the bunch, though, but lots of gangs of immigrant bully
starlings.
