Thanks, Doc! I always admired you for all your independent remarks I heard
from you- often you hit the nail on its head.

'Germanitis'- the same as 'German disease'? Maybe I'm suffering at this
point. 'Germany' in the borders of today is artificial, nothing to identify
with, in some aspects. Living next to any border- maybe linguistically or
just because of regional specificals- it's often hard to feel 'German-like',
'German-typed'.
To have been a farmer near the coast meant to co-operate with collegues from
the Netherlands, from England, from Belgium and Denmark more than to be
familiar with any Alpine ski-lifter. Even in our province called
'Niedersachsen' we're living at the edge of the main interest; we are forced
to make alliances following the old ro[u]ot[e]s connecting us with
Schleswig-Holstein and East-Frisland. We get lost of identity, more and more
and from day to day.

The ideas of the EU regarding and supporting minorities we're aspecting as a
good chance to reenter to our local oddity.
Coastal Germans I think never have been convinced members of the young,
Prussian-made construction, based on the curious 'Heiliges Römisches Reich
Deutscher Nationen'.

Maybe I need another session on your couch ;-)?
