I worked under a Modern Languages Inspector who was utterly poltically
correct with language and refused to let me use the word 'master' under any
circumstances!
I could not make a master copy of an exercise.
And children certainly were not allowed to 'master ' skills or languages.
I begged to be allowed to use the word, but the edict was absolute. The
word smacked of masculine authoritarian practises and was 'not
acceptable'!!!!!
I hasten to add that, as soon as I moved on to a different job all my old
'masculine authoritarian practises' returned !
