Subject: Humor
I was listening to a radio program this morning, and as is customary on
the show, the hosts finished the broadcast with a list of humorous names,
puns really, as end credits. A few examples are:
Legal Representation by the firm of Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe
Staff Efficiency Expert Justin Time
Staff Chauffeur Althea Holm, assisted by Minnie Van
Statistician Marj Inoferror
Child Care Specialist Erasmus B. Draggin
Insurance Adjuster Heidi Deductible
Chief Interior Decorator Patty O'Furniture
etc. You get the idea. My question; is this sort of wordplay common to
Low Saxon? Can anyone give examples?
