Subject: Negation
Piet and Jonny,
It may well be that this is a naturally spoken sequence, but as far as I
am concerned _Ik hebbe et niet daon Moeke, echt niet, warkelik waor niet_
is not really pertinent to "trible negation," since the string consists of
three sentences, no matter what the punctuation may be.
Correct punctuation:
_Ik hebbe et niet daon, Moeke. Echt niet. Warkelik waor niet._
"I have not done it, Mom. Really not. Really truly not."
I didn't do it, Mom. I really didn't. I swear I didn't.
(Punctuation rules are being violated more and more.)
In sentences (2) and (3), _ik hebbe et daon_ ("I have done it") is
implied; i.e., it's slot is left blank.
Heiko (?):
> dat kriggst Du nienich nich trecht
I very much doubt that this is a common construction. It sounds very
forced to me, though _nie nich_ ("never not") is definitely common. It's
the second _nich_ that I question.
Cheers!
