In mijn antwoord op de bijdrage van Piet Bult, i.v.m. het gebruik van 'om',
heb ik me op het standpunt van het Algemeen Belgisch Nederlands geplaatst.
Ik had het over 'om' in niet-doelzinnen en terloops ook over het gebruik van
het gallicisme 'van' (
Zoals je terecht opmerkt, wordt in het Brabants 'voor' gebruikt in
doelzinnen. Dat geldt vanzelfsprekend ook voor het Oost-Brabants. Een
voorbeeld: /Ver oech de woërhet te zeggen, do geluëf ik niks van/, d.i. Om u
de waarheid te zeggen, daar geloof ik niks van. Ik hoop dat je de
klankwaarde van mijn would-be fonetische spelling juist kan interpreteren.
Ik heb niet ontdekt hoe ik de tekens van de IPA-transcriptie in Outlook
Express (zelfs in Unicode UTF-8) kan gebruiken. Als ik ze kon gebruiken
(zoals in mijn dialectwoordenboek), zou alles direct duidelijk zijn.
'Om' komt wel voor in het Oost-Brabants, nl. als voorzetsel zoals in /öm den
hoek/ (Melkwezers), /oem den oek/ (Tiens), daarnaast ook als bijwoord zoals
in /den dach es öm (oem)/ "de dag is om, voorbij, verstreken".
