Lowlanders,

One of our members wrote to me privately, suggesting that we consider 
joining the brandnew Open Source Format (ODF) Alliance 
(http://www.odfalliance.com/, more information: 
http://www.odfalliance.com/about.html).

To tell you the truth, I don't seem to fully understand the purpose, and I 
do not know if it is relevant to Lowlands-L and if joining is a good idea.

For this reason I invite you to share your opinions about it, especially 
those of you with law backgrounds.
