Subject: Help with a Name

If one has the German surname Zauter in one's ancestry and the word "zaut"
is Limburgish for the English word "salt", is it likely then that the
surname is of Limburgish origin?

Welcome to the List!

Your request is quite legit.

However, I ask you and others to read the rules (lowlands-l.net/rules.php).

One of the rules is this:

*Identify yourself*
Anonymous postings are not permitted and will be ignored if anonymous
