Subject: LLL "Tradition" Edinburgh School Kids' Verses

I've just recalled a couple of daft verses recited by Scots schoolchildren
in the 1940's.Och we were creative.

It wiz in the munth o' Manchester
In the City o' July
The rain wiz fawing heavily
The streets wiz soakin' dry
I went oan toap o' a tram cawr
Tae sail way ower the sea
Ah ask'd the cunductur tae punch mah ticket
An' 'e punched me oan the ee.

OR even worse this proclamation....

Ladies und Jeellyspins.
The nicht in the efternin thair's gotte be un op'n air soshiull in the kirk
haw.
Admishun free
Pey at the door
Cushiunned seats
Sit oan the floor
Electric licht
Dun bi caun'le
Dinnae gang back
It's a bluidy scaun'le
