Man- beste next-buer- in these cases the* '_hem_'* -ending was  earlier
than *'-um'*!
I guess it to have changed during the times between the 14th and 16th
century, whilst the era of (Lower) Middle German, or: Middle Saxon.

Of course I'm open for everyone to tell me better funded facts- I'm not at
all an expert in these matters...
