"Fél" exclusively means "handsome, beautiful" in my version of Brabantish.
So, "e fél maske" is "a cute girl", and not "a fiery girl", like in some
other dialects.

As an aside, I managed to sample an interesting word today:

"kwölep"

meaning quicksand. Related to German "Quelle" and according to Weijnen a
creation similar to Old Icelandic "gipr" (mouth, gob) being extended from
the root of Old High German "gien" (to yawn).

Re: the fell- vell controversy, Marcel, Felix, Jonny and Ron.

My mother used to call a really impolite, naughty boy "een velg" Where does
that come from?. Does anybody know?
