Beste Ron,
in the classification list of "Low German | Low Saxon" dialects you put:
> Southwestern dialects:
> Westphalian dialects:
> Münsterland dialects [D]
> Twente, Veluwe and Southern Drenthe dialects [NL]
> Eastphalian dialects [D]
That is - regarding the Westphalian dialects in Germany - not
correct. You can
=> either embrace all Westphalian dialects under this label,
=> or distinguish just between
- Westphalian dialects in Germany
- Westphalian dialects in Netherland (...)
[perhaps just because of the different state affiliation or leverage
by Standard German or Dutch respectively]
=> or list all the main Westphalian dialect groups which are on the
German side of the Germany/Netherland border, which are:
* Eastwestphalian (with Osnabrück-Tecklenburgish, Ravensbergish,
Lippish and others)
* Southwestphalian (Soest, Sauerland, Westphalian Mark)
* Münsterland dialects (Munsterlandish, Beckum dialect)
* Westmunsterlandish (between Münsterland, the bordering part of
Netherland, perhaps overlapping the border?)
[* Lower-Ems-dialects - Lingen, Bentheim, Emsland - as intersection
to North-Saxon varieties, "East-Frisian", Oldenburgish]
see for details:
http://home.wxs.nl/~obd/obo/platt/dia.htm<http://home.wxs.nl/%7Eobd/obo/platt/dia.htm>
But you should not take one of the Westphalian Saxon group (in your
case "Münsterland dialects") to represent the rest! All the other
Westphalian Groups do not belong to the Münsterland, neither
geographical-politically nor dialectically!
Goutgaon!
