Hi all,

Jonny, is the LS gaor not a loan from H-G  'gar'?

'gonnix' in LS is 'glad niks' in Afrikaans. Another form is
'gladnie' as in LS 'gaor nich'.

So it would be negated three times? Very interesting, but, as far I'm able
to follow Afrikaans, nothing exceptional.

I've got an additional idea: couldn't the _g'n_ be related to LS 'gaor', in
combination with 'niks': _gonnix_, meaning 'absolutely nothing'! (BTW: I'm
not sure, if this isn't a loan from Standard German 'gar nichts', which is
meaning the same.)
