Loos betekent: onnozel, onwetend ...
vrij
pejoratief, dus eerder: dwaas, onverstandig.
E loozn = een dwaze kerel!
Een meisje loos = een meisje zonder ervaring.

Beste Theo, Ron,
Jii schreyven:
(Theo) 'loos' had de betekenis van 'zonder'.
Dus 'een meisje loos' was 'een meisje zonder man'.
(Ron)Ja, ja, beste Theo! Ook in het Nedersaksisch van Duitsland.
Interestingly in Standard German 'loses Frauenzimmer' denotes something
negative- 'a wife with doubtful character and morals'.
But I guess the origin for both meanings is well explained here:

Hello Elsie, Jonny & all,
as to "Heiopei" being modestly popular among teens, that has been so since I
was a teen (and should, considering the speed of teen slang change, have
changed by now :-)), and "Heiopei" then meant something like "guy" in all
nuances of character. It was perhaps connected with a nice comic then
emerging and still to be found on the Web (
http://www.familie-ahlers.de/cartoons/haiopeis.html,
http://www.haiwelt.de/sonstiges/spass/haiopeis/haiopeis.php). Th comic is
based on the pun Hei = Hai (= shark). Its setting is completey unterwater.
Hartlich!
Marlou
