Subject: LL-L "Idiomatica" 2008.10.01 (02) [D]

Zou ik me eerst even mogen voorstellen?   Ik ben een Amerikaan van uit de
Blue Ridge bergen (Appalachia).  Mijn moedertaal is het Amerikaans, vooral
met een typische "hillbilly" Appalachense uitspraak, alhoewel mijn
grammatica in het Engels wel standaard is.  Ik werkte eerder in Nederland en
toen ik eerst het Nederlandse hoorde leek het me al een bekende taal, niet
dat ik het echt kon verstaan, maar er was nog iets in de klank dat voor mij
heel herkenbaar en aantrekkelijk  was.

Wat betreft een "stief kwartier": ik gis dat "stief" is van "stijf", dus ik
gis dat de bedoeling is dat het duurt iets langer dan 15 minuten.
Misschein zeggen ze een "sterk" kwartier in de randstad?  "kwait nait" :-)
