Hi all, Marcel,
Yes, you are quite right.
aan't is short for 'aan het' and the construct "besig om te" can replace all
the given forms.
I did mention that the form is dialectical (streekstaal) and nowadays seldom
heard amongst young ones or in urban areas.

Hi, all!
As some of you may have noticed, it's *an 't ...* in Low Saxon (too). This
is followed by the infinite of a verb serving as a verbal noun; e.g.,
*Sey is an 't schryven.*
(*Se is an't Schrieven.*)
She is busy writing. She is in the middle of writing.
*Dey kinder s* *ünd an 't spelen.*
(*De Kinner s* *ünd an't Spelen.*)
The children are busy playing.
*Up dey Hoge Straat sünd sey an 't bouen.*
(*Up de Hoge Straat sünd se an't Boon.*)
("On High Street they are busy building.")
There's construction going on on High Street.
Alternatively with *by tou ...*:
*Sey is by tou schryven.*
(*Se is bi to schrieven.*)
She is busy writing. She is in the middle of writing.
*Dey kinder s* *ünd by tou spelen.*
(*De Kinner s* *ünd bi to spelen.*)
The children are busy playing.
*Up dey Hoge Straat sünd sey by tou bouen.*
(*Up de Hoge Straat sünd se bi to boon.*)
("On High Street they are busy building.")
There's construction going on on High Street.
Kumpelmenten,
Reinhard/Ron
