Nee, ek dink nie so nie. S>R of R>S verander in die Germaanse tale net in
tussenposisies, soos by verskynsels van die Wet van Verner: verlie*z*en -
verlo*r*en; bo*s*ús > ba*r*e. En in die Indiese tale verander S in R, soos
Indo-Europees **kleuos* > Sanskriet *srávas*.
Nee, 'surt' is verwant met 'swart'. Nederlands 'zwart', Engels 'swarthy',
ens.

Ik denk dat "Surt" gewoon verwant is met "zwart", en niet met de drie
andere. Ook niet met zoet (B), soot (E) dus, wat een ouder woord voor "roet"
is.
Benevens "swart" en "swarthy" is in het Engels op een hoger niveau ook
"sordid" familie, via Latijn "sordidus" (= vuil).
Proto-Indo-Europese wortel is *sword0-.

Incidentally, also related to *surtr* is Latin â*sord*- as in *sordÄre* âto
become dirtyâ, *sordes* âfilthâ, âmeannessâ, hence also English âsordidâ.
