Taukieken is best' Stück Arbeit, man blot nich bi't Äten

Erinnert man sich an die Feiertage um die Weihnachtszeit und auch zum
Jahreswechsel, spricht man von *Vullbukabend, Vullbuuksabend. *

Wihnachtsabend is Vullbukabend, hadd de Jung' seggt, hadd' ick 'n Lif as 'n
Schünfack un 'n Mul as ne Kauh, denn kunn ick wat laten.

Vullbuuksabend m. Abend, an dem tüchtig gegessen und getrunken wird

1. Heiligabend, Weihnachtsabend: *Hüt is Vull-Buks-Abend för Minschen un
Veih.*

2. Ick weit dat noch von mien Kinnertied. Tau Wihnachten hebben wi tau
Middag äten:
    Boiled potatoes/Salzkartoffeln oewer leiwer flourig potatoes/mehlige
Salzkartoffeln.
    Vorweg  shicken soup/Hühnersuppe aus eigenem Hühnerbestand, Hauptgericht
    chicken breast /Hühnerbrust mit erwähnten flourig potatoes, dazu red
cabbage
    und etwas für den Leckerzahn  chocolate pudding with vanilla sauce, das
versteht
    jeder. * *(Uns' Äten wier woll mihr ein Arm-Lüüd-Äten.)

** Und gestern "English Christmas Party Saturday Dezember 12 th, 2009" gab
es Köstlichkeiten zu genießen.

Wi serve at the table to start with:
Turkey with, Brussels Sprouts, *Roast Potatoes (lecker),*
Yorkshire Pudding, Stuffing,

and desert: Plum Pudding als Christmas Pudding gedacht.

On the buffet you will find:
Cakes and sweets: Christmas Cake, Apple Crumble, Eton Mess, Trifle,
Shortbread, Cream Scones, Christmas Pudding, Chocolate Crinkles, Minced
Pies.

Drinks: Tea, Coffee, Soft Drinks and Eggnogg (damit ich mit meiner
concertina
Quetschkomode fröhlich aufspielen konnte ..., denn am meisten trank ich
Eggnogg, sehr milde, und habe von allen leckeren Dingen Häppchen genossen,
lecker.

Anschließend sahen wir den Film "A Christmas Carol" natürlich auf Englisch.

Ein volles Haus und eine herrliche Begegnung mit Freunden der Engl. Sprache.

Für mich war es ein sogenannter *Vullbuuksabend.*
