Hello Lowlanders:
I learned today about a film called "Silent Light" by Mexican director
Carlos Reygadas. I saw a review of it on www.salon.com <
http://www.salon.com/> that says, "This is presumably the first Mexican film
ever made that isn't in Spanish, as well as the first film from any nation
made in Plautdietsch, <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plautdietsch> a Germanic
language or dialect spoken (at least in recent centuries) only by isolated
communities of Mennonites."
I don't know any more about it, but I thought y'all might have an interest.
Mark Brooks
See <http://nds.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stellet_Licht> (and/or its language
interwiki links) and <http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=ye6uyTwN4N0> (full movie
on YouTube [of course a copyright indringement, so do not view it]).
