Marsha asked about âpeawadden.â
I come from Texas and have family roots in Tennessee, so most of what I have
to say regards English spoken in the southern USA. Iâve always heard that
word pronounced as âpeawaddelâ with syllabic âlâ instead of a syllabic ânâ.
This thread makes me wonder if Iâve misheard the word all these years. I
donât believe I have, but can anyone confirm that?
