Dear lowlanders,



I would like to receive your feedback concerning the following words in
English and Dutch.



I think "ranch" can be translated as "boerderij" in Dutch, though this
English word also implies an extensive "farm" in the United States.



The general definition in Dutch of this English word "ranch":

- een grote "boerderij" met vee en paarden.

One person told me that "boerderij" means "farm" where only crops are
cultivated or produced on, not a tract of land devoted to the raising
raising and breedings of domestic animals. If this were right, it would be
impossible to use the word "boerderij" to define the word "ranch" (see
above).



I think that "veehouderij" or "veefokkerij" would be a good representation
for "ranch" but it would not be wrong to choose "boerderij" either.
