Today I found some dark brown bread with fruit inserts in the Makro near
Brussels, called "Kletzenbrood".



It made me think on, "Kölner Stollen" we buy in the Christmas period, though
these consist of white bread with marzepan inserts, sugar, some raisins. I
don't know why it is called "Kölner Stollen" over here since this has a
quite different meaning in Germany as to Wikipedia:

correspond to German Christstollen:

Back to our Dark-brown Kletzenbrood. I thought at first it came from Kletzen
in Sachsen, but I found no connection at:

http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kletzenbrot , Früchtebrot, and
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kletze



The "kletzebrood" at the Makro is labeled by "Proladis France" in Lesquin,
South of Lille (Rijsel). Their website is in the Netherlands though
