So heit dat in ein'n Riemel von John Brinckman:
*Ick meen man so* (2. Vers)
Un Hans, je de hett loßt sick fri *
un deent nu bi den Burn,
he kriggt nu ball sin Bödneri,
wu lang will dat noch durn!
* durch Losentscheid vom Militärdienst befreit
Regarding "Kate", such a farmer is also called "ne Kossaat" around here (cf.
Grimm kossate DWB<http://germazope.uni-trier.de:8080/Projekte/WBB2009/Navigator/navigator_py?sigle1=DWB&lemid1=GK11684&sigle2=DWB&lemid2=GK11511>
),
sometimes also "ne Koeter".
Standard Dutch has "keuterboer" for a farmer who can not or barely make a
living from his agricultural activities.
For those of you inclined to sample some typical beer of the region where
these words are still in use, have a look here:
Brouwersroute inrijden | Leireken

This is the countryside where I grew up, beer-brewing-country, they even
have a beer called "Kossaat" ;=)
Kind greetings,
Luc Hellinckx, Halle, Belgium
