Hi,
Concerning the bird-names 'Dœskopp / Tölpel':
Last night my memory started working, and I think the sailors gave those
names to the birds.
It happened that a gannet landed on the deck of a ship, and making his steps
on the deck the bird made a completely clownesk impression,
and the bird made a helpless impression when it tried to take off again.
About 1880 a french poet wrote a poem about it.
At last, literature is a help for me.
