Tietelroze...
Van een wetenschappelijk onderzoeker naar de huidige stand van de
'tietelroze' (www.martypoorter.nl/paginas/stinzen.html) kreeg ik deze
verklaring over de naam 'tietelraos'. De Nederlandse naam was vroeger
'tijdloze' waarmee aangeduid werd dat deze bloem buiten de normale bloeitijd
valt, hetzij eerder, hetzij later. In het Nederlands is de 'd' door de jaren
vervallen en werd het 'tijloze'. Door verbastering is vervolgens de naam
'tietelroas/-roze' ontstaan. Daarom noemen wij hier in Fryslân/Stellingwerf
bijv. de herfstkrokus (autumn crocus) ook wel tietelroos.
