Subject: LL-L Languages in danger

The edition of Dunkirk of the daily newspaper “La Voix du Nord” has 2
articles about Flemish in France.

Dunkerquois is a kind of pidgin: French vocabulary on a Flemish syntax.
The number of speakers of Dunkerquois decreased from 5000 in 1945 to about
500 nowadays.
Comment: Pénelècres correspond to pennelikkers in Dutch.

Flemish (regional Flemish, not Dutch) is taught in a school in Hondschoote
(France).
They give 50.000 speakers of Flemish for France
and 1.500.000 for Belgium (East- and West Flanders? forgetting Zeeuws
Vlaanderen)

Since I have some problems with my webspace I’m attaching the 2 relevant
