don't know if you saw this... Alice in the version of English I
possibly would have acquired, had by grandfatehr not told all 5 of his
sons "If you EVER go to work in the [coal] mines, I'll disown you"...
coalmines being the ONLY job in town (or county!), meant they all
left... and my dad, joining the USAF, went (geographically) the
furthest.
