I think convincing them there is an online community eager to contribute is
a very strong argument. The idea of "crowd sourcing" is hot right now. They
do not have the interest or resources to explore every regional issue. Even
major languages like Hindi or Japanese are very problematic right now as
far as Google translate is concerned. They are eager for community
participation.

It is said that "a language is a dialect with an army and a navy", well
maybe a dialect with an active community of willing contributors is just as
good.
