As in many cultures, homosexuality seems to have been marked in
Mesoamerican (again, at least among Nahuas) as taking the role of
a woman and cuilloni meaning "He who uses the anus" is the Nahuatl term
for "passive" homosexual. Cuylon is the contemporary Central American
term, used extensively at least in Nicaragua and Honduras (colchon tends
to be used more in Honduras). Lancaster's book on Nicaragua's
revolutionary culture _Life Is Hard_ includes a contemporary study of the
cuylon in Nicaraguan society.
