Huitznahuac
Is a cultus place orientated in the South.
One could find it in Tezcoco, Otumba, Azcapotzalco, etc.
In Tenochtitlan the place is well been orientated in the South, in the
quarters which the Conquistadores called San Pablo, and is still known under
this name.
In general it means: the South.
It was also a place near the thorns, always situated in front of the altars,
where the ritual sacrifices has taken place.
As the altars were always orientated to the South, the word was used in a
general way to locate the South part of the earth or the sky.
