We have the pleasure to announce the

5th International Conference of Cushitic and Omotic languages
  la 5ème Conférence Internationale sur les Langues Couchitiques et 
Omotiques

  to be held in Paris from Wednesday 16th to Friday 18th April 2008.
        se déroulera à Paris du mercredi 16 au vendredi 18 avril 2008.

This conference will be the fifth one in a series which started in 
Köln/Bonn in 1986 and continued in Torino in 1990, Berlin in 1994, and 
Leiden in 2003.
Cette conférence sera la cinquième d’une série commencée à Cologne/Bonn 
en 1986 et qui s’est poursuivie à Turin en 1990, Berlin en 1994 et 
Leyde en 2003.


The theme of the conference will be recent developments in all 
linguistic aspects of Cushitic and Omotic languages, preferably from a 
descriptive point of view. Twenty-two years after the first conference, 
contributions on the state of the arts in one language, or a branch, or 
a sub-branch of these languages, will be also most welcome. Students in 
Masters and PhD programs are particularly encouraged to present their 
researches.
Le thème en sera les récents développements en linguistique couchitique 
et omotique, de préférence d’un point de vue descriptif. Vingt-deux 
années après la première conférence, les contributions faisant le point 
sur l’état des connaissances sur une langue, une branche ou 
sous-branche du couchitique et de l’omotique seront les bienvenues. Les 
étudiants en master et en doctorat sont particulièrement encouragés à 
présenter leurs recherches.
