"Preference and Efficiency in Discourse"
Paris, November, 18-19, 2010
We are pleased to announce an international symposium on information and
meta-informative centering in natural languages to be held at Paris-Sorbonne
University on Nov. 18-19, 2010. The Meta-Informative Centering Theory (MIC) is
currently developed at CELTA (Centre de Linguistique Theorique et Appliquee).
The symposium is intended to focus on preference and efficiency in discourse,
and to continue discussion on crucial issues of the MIC theory in connection
with research on pragmatics including the Socio-Cognitive Approach (SCA) to
pragmatics developed at the State University of New York at Albany. For further

- Call deadline (Registration with the title of your communication and
submission of abstracts up to 1400 characters, spaces included) : September
30th, 2010
- Notification of acceptance: October 30th, 2010
Remark ! If you need a quick notification, please send us your abstract at your
earliest convenience. In such a case, we will do our best that you receive our
Notification of acceptance as soon as possible.
Participation conditions:
40 minutes lecture by the invited speakers
20 minutes presentation for other participants
Registration and contact: celta at paris-sorbonne.fr
Registration fee: 60 (students 20 ) before November ,10th 2010 and after that
date 80 (students 25)
Guidelines for Registration and Submission of Abstracts
Abstracts should (a) not exceed 1400 characters, (b) clearly indicate your
presentation title, (c) be anonymous for purposes of blind peer-review, (d)
formatted as .doc or .rtf documents and (e) electronically submitted to:
celta at paris-sorbonne.fr
Please include the following information in the main body of your e-mail : (a)
title and name of author(s), your affiliation institution, (d) e-mail address
for correspondence (e) 3-5 keywords.
Please include the following information in the subject header of your email:
MIC 2010 Abstract Submission [author(s) name(s)]
