Université de Chypre, Nicosie, 23 - 26 juin 2011

Le département d'Etudes françaises et de langues modernes de l'Université de Chypre et l'EA 2290 SYLED de l'Université Sorbonne nouvelle Paris 3 organisent un colloque international qui consiste en trois volets :

        • sémantique interculturelle des émotions ;
        • interaction multilingue et émotions ;
        • acquisition d'une langue et émotions.
Ce colloque a pour but de rassembler des chercheurs pratiquant une sémantique des émotions dans une perspective interculturelle ou multilingue. Les approches peuvent concerner tous les niveaux langagiers : lexique, syntaxe, morphologie, prosodie. On pourra ainsi s'intéresser aux différences prosodiques caractérisant l'expression de la même émotion dans des langues différentes, aux ressources lexicales disponibles dans les langues pour exprimer telle ou telle émotion, aux structures syntaxiques qui sont mobilisées, selon les langues, dans l'expression des émotions, etc. Aussi bien les démarches théoriques (sémantique fonctionnelle, métalangue sémantique naturelle, etc.) que les démarches appliquées (enseigner les émotions dans une classe de langue, etc.) sont ciblées par le colloque.

Call for Papers

Cognition, Emotion and Communication

University of Cyprus, Nicosia, 23 - 26 June 2011

The Department of French Studies and Modern Languages at the University of Cyprus and the research unit SYLED EA 2290 at the Sorbonne Nouvelle (University of Paris 3) are organizing an international conference on Emotions, Cognition and Communication with a special focus on:

        • semantics of emotions in a cross-cultural perspective;
        • emotion in cross-linguistic interactions;
        • language acquisition and emotions.
The conference aims to bring together researchers interested in semantic issues related to emotions in cross-cultural settings or/and a cross-linguistic environment. We are interested in all linguistic focuses: lexical, syntactical, prosodical and morphological. Thus research could consider, for example, the prosodical specificities characterizing expression of the same emotion in different languages, or the lexical resources or the syntactical structures that are used, in various languages, to express an emotion. Both theoretical research (functional semantics, natural semantic metalanguage, etc.) and applied research (teaching emotions in a classroom for instance) are targeted in this conference.
