« Apprendre une L2 : interactions orales entre locuteurs natifs et non-natifs » 
 
Les études sur l’apprentissage d’une langue étrangère (L2) s’intéressent souvent à l’interaction entre enseignant et apprenant dans un contexte institutionnel. Or il est bien connu que d’autres types d’interactions peuvent contribuer aux processus d’apprentissage d’une L2, en particulier les échanges des locuteurs non-natifs entre eux, ou encore les échanges entre locuteurs natifs et non natifs hors du contexte traditionnel de la classe de langues. 
Plus généralement, on s’intéressera lors de ces journées d’étude aux interactions orales entre locuteurs de langues différentes. Une approche transdisciplinaire et multimodale enrichira l’étude de cette thématique, qui pourra être abordée sous plusieurs angles (liste non-exhaustive): -Phonétique-phonologie : accommodation, fossilisation, correction phonétique (auto-correction et hétéro-correction), foreigner talk, interférence de la L1 
-Gestuelle : gestuelle en L2, cadre et positionnement, espace gestuel 
-Acquisition et didactique : complexité, correction linguistique et fluidité, méta-discours -Interaction et analyse conversationnelle : négociation du sens et stratégies de communication, code switching 
-Psycholinguistique : motivation, estime de soi, différences individuelles et variabilité -Socio-culturelle : interculturel, traditions éducatives, préjugés et attentes, identité linguistique et socio-culturelle, savoir-être, langues en contact 
Les participants sont invités à présenter des recherches portant sur corpus oraux.           En outre, lors de ces journées une session portera sur l’exploitation du corpus tandem constitué dans le cadre du projet innovant jeunes chercheurs SITAF. Ce corpus offre des données précieuses renseignant sur les processus interactionnels et acquisitionnels émergeant des conversations en tandem anglais-français. 
Un échantillon du corpus sera mis à disposition des participants qui souhaiteraient les visionner ou les exploiter pour leurs analyses. L’échantillon sera disponible à la mi-janvier 2014 sur demande email (extraits vidéos et audio, accompagnés d’une transcription orthographique).

Abstract : 500 mots, références non incluses, à envoyer au format .pdf, .word en deux versions (une version comprenant le nom, prénom et l’affiliation de l’auteur, et une autre version anonyme).

      ‘Learning a second language: spoken interaction between native and non-native speakers’ 
Studies on second language (L2) learning often focus on teacher-student interaction in an institutional setting. However, it is well known that other types of interaction can help speakers learn a second language: for example, interaction between non-native speakers and interaction between native and non-native speakers outside the traditional context of the language classroom. 
This workshop will focus on spoken interaction between speakers of different languages. We are particularly interested in inter-disciplinary and multimodal approaches to the topic. Some relevant areas of investigation are suggested in the (non-exhaustive) list below. -Phonetics and phonology: accommodation, fossilisation, phonetic correction (autocorrection and hetero-correction), foreigner talk, L1 interferenceGesture: gestures made by L2 learners, frame and stance, the use of gesture space by L2 learners 
-Acquisition and didactics: complexity, linguistic correction and fluency, meta-discourse -Interaction and conversation analysis: meaning negotiation and communicative strategies, code switching 
-Psycholinguistics: motivation, self-confidence, individual differences and variation -Socio-cultural approaches to acquisition: inter-cultural considerations, learning traditions, biases and expectations, linguistic and socio-cultural identity, savoir-être, languages in contact 
Participants are invited to present research that uses spoken language data. 
As part of the workshop, we will also be running a session exploring data from the SITAF corpus. These data target the processes of interaction and acquisition during French-English tandem conversations. 
A selection of data from the corpus will be made available to participants who might be interested in watching and/or analysing it. This selection will comprise video and audio extracts, as well as written transcriptions. It will be accessible as of mid-January (please register your interest by email).
