Dear RNLD List,
As many of you know I've been researching tribal languages in Northeast India for 20 years. Like everywhere else in the world we face a huge task of language documentation before so much is lost.
There are passionate students in Northeast India willing to put time and effort into this work. I've been supporting several students from India to undertake an advanced Linguistics MA at a University in Thailand, so that they can go back to India and do this kind of work more effectively.
I've started a Crowdsourcing project on Indiegogo, to support the costs of training an MA student, Deepjyoti Goswami, who is working on the Rera (Ronrang) Tangsa language.
If we can help Deep get the training he needs to do this work, then there will be great benefits for the tribal communities of Northeast India. This is just the start. I want to help more students who are seriously about studying linguistics and help to preserve the tribal languages to do this work.
I'm asking for help from RNLD members, and here is the link for more information about the project
