The Council of Teachers of Southeast Asian Languages (COTSEAL) is founded
in 1984.  COTSEAL is a professional interest group whose primary purpose
is to promote the discipline of language teaching, to support material
development, and to encourage research in teaching and linguistics on all
levels.
