Many, many thanks to the overwhelming response I got
to my query as to the original Russian text of the
Soviet national anthem!  Incidentally, I am not a
professor, but rather just a graduate student in
German Studies who has a strong side interest in
things Slavic :-)  Some of you included texts to
"The Internationale" as well, and, even though I
wasn't looking for THAT text, I do appreciate the
effort.  I spent several weeks questioning librarians
and professors here at Rice before it dawned on
me to check internet resources...Thank you, thank
you, thank you all.  I hope I can be as helpful to
the rest of you in the future.  Best wishes!
