Subject:  Enrollment query


Dear SEELANGERS,

Last year at about this time someone (I think it was Richard Robin) posted a
query as to how enrollments were in first year Russian classes at other schools.
Last year, as I remember, showed a downturn in enrollments.  I was wondering how
things were looking this year across the nation.  What I am specifically
interested in is whether your enrollments are up or down this year compared to
last year.

Okay, I will go first.  Here at Ohio University--that's Athens, not Columbus!

--our enrollments are level with last year for beginning Russian.  That, BTW, is
well down from what we had two years ago.

I think this question is of sufficient interest to post replies on-list, but I
would be happy to receive any replies off- or on-list.  Thanks in advance.
