Greetings!

A Russian student and film lover told my wife that there is a film version
of Bulgakov's Master and Margarita by Andrzej Wajda. If true, this would be
interesting to see. Can anybody confirm the existence of this film, and if
it's genuine, is there a video version available in the U.S.? And is it any
good, i.e., worth seeking out? I have often been disappointed by film
versions of favorite works (e.g., Jiri Menzel's rather flat version of my
favorite Russian novel, Vojnovich's Ivan Chonkin pt. 1; and too many
American/British movies to enumerate), but for some reason, I keep coming
back for more punishment.
