Well put Donnie...One of our most pressing responsibilities is to
passionately promote and support the basic tenets of a liberal arts
education, one which includes foreign languages. One suggestion of where to
start "working together" might be to contact the National Foreign Language
Center (NFLC) and the regional and national offices of our language
associations. NFLC does a lot of policy work in D.C. and they undoubtedly
know the channels through which our voices could be sent to those working in
government and on various committees having to do with education.
