South Kurils / Northern Territories

Dear Seelangers,
I recently returned from a week-long trip to Kunashir (the island
nearest Japan), one of the islands involved in the territorial dispute
between Japan and Russia. There is ample documentation of the official
Japanese position on the islands
(http://www.mofa.go.jp/region/europe/russia/territory/index.html and
http://www.mofa.go.jp/region/n-america/us/q&a/declaration.html among
others). Does anyone know where I can find the official position of the
Russian Federation? I found one site
(http://www.sakhalin.ru/userhome/K&G/HISTORY/history.htm) that outlines
the history of the Russian presence on the Kurils, but it was posted by
a couple of guys in Novosibirsk, hardly an "official" view. Any
suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I will be posting a page on my trip and if anyone is interested,
I'll post the URL on this list.
