GRANTS- New application deadlines for research and language study grants

The American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS is currently accepting applications for the following programs:

Title VIII Research Scholar Program: New application deadline for summer, fall and academic year programs is January 15.  Provides full support for three to nine-month research trips to Russia, Central Asia, the South Caucasus, Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus.  Fellowships include roundtrip international travel, housing, living stipends, visas, insurance, affiliation fees, archive access, research advising and logistical support in the field.  Total value of awards ranges from approximately $8,000 to $25,000.  Open to graduate students, post-docs and faculty.  Funded by the U.S. Department of State, Program for Research and Training on Eastern Europe and the Newly Independent States.  Application deadlines: October 1 (Spring Program); January 15 (Summer, Fall and Academic Year Programs).

Title VIII Combined Research and Language Training Program: New application deadline for summer, fall and academic year programs is January 15.  Provides full support for research and approximately eight hours per week of advanced language instruction for three to nine months in Russia, Central Asia, the South Caucasus, Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus.  Fellowships include roundtrip international travel, housing, living stipends, visas, insurance, affiliation fees, archive access, research advising and logistical support in the field.  Total value of awards ranges from approximately $8,000 to $25,000.  Open to graduate students, post-docs and faculty.  Funded by the U.S. Department of State, Program for Research and Training on Eastern Europe and the Newly Independent States. Title VIII Special Initiatives Fellowship: New application deadline for summer, fall and academic year programs is January 15.  Provides grants of up to $35,000 for field research on policy-relevant topics in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.  Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in a policy-relevant field, have held an academic research position for at least five years, and have sufficient language-ability to carry out proposed research.  Scholars must conduct research for at least four months in the field. Funded by the U.S. Department of State, Program for Research and Training on Eastern Europe and the Newly Independent States.  Application deadlines: October 1 (Spring Program); January 15 (Summer, Fall and Academic Year Programs).
