mezhdometno-glagolnye formy

I think one important difference between the two sentences is that the
Russian interjection "скок" is obviously derived from a verb, which somehow
interferes with its form and function, underscoring the verb in it. I would
rather use something like "о-ба!" ("Хо-ба!"? not quite sure if there is any
set trandition of transcribing it) for comparison as it does not have any
obvious relation to a verb and has a similar meaning in the context: Говорит
одно, а потом о-ба - и в другом месте.
As for "wham-bam", I would say this context is rather ambiguous and can be
interpreted in two different ways, but in some other contexts it gets much
closer to the "междометно-глагольная форма" in question.

IMHO.
