Fortochka

Dear Seelangers,

Has anyone ever had any good ideas for translating the Russian word _fortochka_ ?

Small window, upper window, small inner window hatch... um, I'm stumped. I feel a translation for it on the tip of my tongue but I can't seem to spit it out...

Any help would be much appreciated.
