The American Council of Learned Societies announces
Dissertation Fellowships in East European Studies
Competition Year 2012-2013
* Research fellowships for use in Eastern Europe
* Writing fellowships for writing the dissertation in the United States
after research is complete
Applications will be accepted for work related to Albania, Bosnia and
Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary,
Kosovo/a, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania,
Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
Applicants must be pursuing a Ph.D. degree at a U.S. university. All
requirements for the PhD except the dissertation (ABD) must be completed
by June 2013.
All topics, periods, and approaches in the humanities and social
sciences are welcome.
Application deadline: November 15, 2012
