An _endnote_ (plural _endnotes_) is one thing; the software Endnote
(singularia tantum), quite another. The former is a way of showing
ones notes at the end of a document/chapter/section rather than as at
the foot of each page. The latter is proprietary software for
preparing bibliographic references at the end of an article or book.
